David began his advertising career at S H Benson in 1963 – one of the UK’s top advertising agencies of that era. 3 years later he joined the family firm Alfred Bates & Son Limited in London’s Fleet Street. In 1969 he took over as Managing Director. His father retired in 1972. David spear-headed the office move to the historic location of St. Katharine Docks in 1986, overlooking the international landmarks of Tower Bridge and Tower of London.
Having graduated with a 2:1 B.A. (Hons) Degree in International Business and French, Andrew joined the family business in 2000, and has worked within all operational areas. He now has over 10 years’ experience in all aspects of recruitment communications, taking a strategic overview of both the account handling and creative functions. Andrew currently works with our clients in the private and public sector with excellent relationships with international media. Andrew directed the 2015 office move to the creative hub of The Leathermarket in Bermondsey.
